Time, Talent, Treasure

We are all called to serve.  It is our privilege at Christ the King to serve our parishioners by helping them to discover and pursue their personal stewardship call.  It is also our duty to our parishioners to be good stewards of the Time, Talent, and Treasure that they so generously offer.  In your prayer, please ask for the grace to continue or the discernment to identify your particular call to stewardship of God’s gifts of your time, your talent, and your treasure.

Time

Some of us are blessed with the gift of Time, whether it is a few hours once a week or an hour every day.  We are called to consider filling those periods of time with some act of service, from caring for the plants in the church to serving a meal to the homeless.  Our Liturgy and Ministries pages have many examples of how one might consider filling those uncommitted moments with ways to be good stewards of the gift of Time.

Talent

All of us have been blessed with some skill or talent, but sometimes we think that our “talent” is not good enough.  However, the desire to try to participate in a new activity or service sometimes helps us to grow in our skills.  Many who participate in ministries at Christ The King take a leap of faith, offering what they have, and discovering that there was more inside of them than they knew.  Some have been blessed with special talents – whether it is the ability to relate to others, to create beauty through art or music, to think strategically and organize plans and events, to impart your knowledge and teach others, etc.  Remember what Jesus said about not hiding your light under a bushel!  Many Christ The King ministries and organizations could benefit greatly by your gifts, and the entire community would be blessed.  All through these web pages, you can find where you can offer your talent.

Treasure

In these turbulent economic times, we appreciate most gratefully your gifts of your material Treasure, as we know that there is often a decisive sacrifice involved.  In Matthew 6:21 we are told “For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.”
Many of us wonder if our “Widow’s Mite” makes any difference.  Please be assured that every gift to Christ The King, no matter the size, is a significant part of the greater whole of our financial stability.  Generosity is not measured by the size of the donation but by the size of the giving heart!
